July 18th: Winnebago Factory Tour, Forest City, Iowa

From Center Point Iowa we continued north to Forest City Iowa and the Winnebago plant tours.  Winnebago must have been named after the Winnebago River which we crossed on the way there.  The Winnebago visitor center was very impressive.  They had a lot of exhibits, many new rv's to tour and many staff to answer any questions.  The Winnebago tour was also very impressive and very organized.  They drove us in mini buses to each plant after outfitting us in orange vests, safety glasses that actually fit, and great ear plugs.  The tour gave us a great understanding of how a class C RV is assembled from the chassis up.  I can't wait to try and build one myself!  At the end of the tour we looked through all the new rv's they had parked outside the visitor center.  From Forest City we set off east for Wisconsin landing in Woodman Lake Campground site #1.
